Built with blocks

A game site you can change without code

Full Site Editing

The header, footer, home page, game pages, archives, search and 404 are all block templates. Move a section, swap a block or restyle the whole site in the Site Editor.

Game pages made of game blocks

Cover, genre pills, details, store buttons, storyline, trailers, screenshots, similar games, more from the same studio, age ratings and posts about the game, each one a block you can reorder or remove.

Five looks

Choose Default, Dark, Blue, Green or Retro in one click, or tweak the palette yourself. The dark header and footer stay dark in every style.

A filterable game library

The All Games page uses the importer's Library block, with search, platform and genre filters and a card grid. Genre, platform and other archives use the same card grid.

Patterns for every section

Home hero, latest games with top rated, latest news, a sidebar, a game page layout, a Top 10 page, a release calendar, a platform page, a My games page and a game review layout are in the inserter under Patterns → GameSync Blocks.

Standard WordPress tools

No custom admin screens or page builder. Menus, colors and fonts all use the standard WordPress editor, so it keeps working as WordPress grows.

Common questions

What is a block theme?

A block theme is built from WordPress blocks instead of PHP template files. You edit the whole site, including the header, footer and every page layout, in the Site Editor under Appearance → Editor.

Do I need the Game Data Importer?

Yes. The game page, the library and the game cards use blocks from the free GameSync Game Data Importer. Without it the theme still works as a plain blog theme, but the game sections stay empty.

How do I change the colors?

Open Appearance → Editor → Styles. Choose the Dark, Blue, Green or Retro style, or open Colors to change the palette. Buttons, banners, pills and links follow the palette automatically.

Which GameSync theme should I pick?

Pick GameSync Blocks if you want to build and restyle the site yourself in the Site Editor. Pick PixelWire, Arcade, Nocturne or Deals if you also want a newsletter and settings pages in wp-admin. The Live Demos page compares them.
