GameSync WP is a small, independent games-database toolkit for WordPress: an IGDB-powered importer, a couple of themes, and a pair of plugins that make a games catalog site feel less like a stack of blog posts and more like an actual games site.
Why it exists
I wanted a clean way to pull structured game data — cover art, platforms, genres, ratings — straight from IGDB into WordPress, without wiring up a custom post type and a dozen meta fields by hand every time. The free GameSync WP Importer plugin is that tool. Everything else in the lineup (the PixelWire theme, Post Ratings, and Manual Related Posts) grew out of the same project: making a games site look and behave the way a games site should, on ordinary WordPress hosting, with no subscription and no vendor lock-in.
What’s included
- GameSync WP Importer — search, import and manage games from IGDB (free, with a Pro tier for bulk import and resync).
- GameSync Lite — a simple, free theme for the free tier.
- PixelWire — a full dark/light/auto gaming magazine theme, included in Pro.
- Post Ratings — simple 1–5 star ratings for any post type.
- Manual Related Posts — hand-picked, two-way related content.
Who’s behind it
GameSync WP is built and supported by me, Thomas Holde, working from Køge, Denmark. There’s no team or company behind the name — just one person who answers the support inbox, ships the updates, and uses these plugins on their own sites. That also means support replies come from someone who actually wrote the code, usually within 2 business days.
