This Privacy Policy explains how gamesyncwp.com (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit our website, download our free plugins/themes, or purchase a GameSync WP Pro license. We are a Denmark-based business and process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Danish Data Protection Act.

2. What personal data we collect
- Contact details you give us: name and email address, when you download a free product, contact support, or purchase a Pro license.
- Purchase and license data: processed on our behalf by Freemius (our payment processor and licensing platform) — name, email, billing country (for VAT), payment method details (held by Freemius and its payment providers, never by us directly), license key and activated site(s).
- Support communications: anything you send us by email, and our replies.
- Technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) generated by normal website operation.
- We do not currently run analytics or advertising trackers (e.g. Google Analytics) on gamesyncwp.com, beyond what Freemius’s checkout itself needs to process a purchase.
3. Why we process your data (legal basis)
- To perform our contract with you: deliver downloads, activate and manage licenses, provide updates and support (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To comply with legal obligations: invoicing and VAT/tax recordkeeping (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Legitimate interests: keeping our site secure, preventing fraud and abuse, improving our products (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Consent: only if you opt in to marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time (Art. 6(1)(a)).
4. Who we share it with
- Freemius, Inc. — our merchant of record for payments, VAT/sales-tax handling, and license management. Freemius processes your payment details directly; we never see or store your card information.
- Our hosting provider — stores the website and anything submitted through it.
- Any support/helpdesk tool we use to answer your messages.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Some providers above may process data outside the EU/EEA (e.g. in the US); where that happens, it’s under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism.
5. How long we keep it
- Purchase and invoicing records: kept as long as required by Danish bookkeeping law (currently 5 years from the end of the financial year).
- Support emails: kept as long as needed to resolve your request, plus a reasonable follow-up period.
- Marketing consent: kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request erasure (“right to be forgotten”), subject to our legal retention obligations
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk) or your own country’s supervisory authority

7. Cookies
Our website uses only the essential cookies needed for it to function (WordPress session cookies, and cookies Freemius’s checkout sets to process your order). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, so we don’t show a cookie-consent banner. If that changes — say, we add analytics later — we’ll add a banner and update this policy.
8. Children
Our products and website are for business and professional use (WordPress site owners and developers) and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision; material changes will be highlighted on our website.
